Top 5 Family Easter Activities You Can Do In Lockdown
With Spring firmly underway and sunny weather finally deciding to make an appearance this year, it’s time to look forward to Easter! While we’re still all getting excited about eggs and family-time, this is the second year in a row where we’ve not been able to see our nearest and dearest on a holiday that’s all about family... And chocolate.
Big family dinners and community events aren’t an option, so what can you do to keep the family occupied through the Easter weekend? Well here at Taylor’s we have plenty of ideas so keep you busy, so you can enjoy the holiday safely. In this blog, we’re going to take a look at five of our favourites, from classic games to decorating your home, and let you know how we’re helping you turn family fun into some fantastic prizes!
Bring The Great Outdoors To Your Own Garden
One of the main draws of Easter is all that lovely time spent in the sunshine, so why not bring all the fun of outdoor activities straight to your own back garden? Create your own mini sports day at home and have some fun challenges for the whole family to take part in and get some fresh air.
The Egg and Spoon race has been a tried and true staple since the 1800s, and of course, eggs and easter are forever linked. An egg and spoon race is a perfect way to use your (hardboiled if you don’t fancy dealing with the mess) painted eggs in a way kids will love, and burn off all that extra sugar at the same time, everybody wins!
Get Creative With Easter-themed Arts and Crafts
Easter is one of the best times of year to get creative, and what better way to flex your art skills and get into the spirit of things than painting eggs with the family? Any age can get involved with egg painting and it’s a brilliant way for you and the family to get into some fun Easter activities.
Get the kids involved with some Easter Arts & Crafts
Of course, if lots of paint and younger kids isn’t your cup of tea then not to worry, there are heaps of fun craft ideas to keep the little ones busy. You can even use some bits and pieces around the house for your very own DIY Blue Peter experience. Why not try your hand at some adorable Bunny Ears or Egg Carton Ducklings?
Have a Classic Easter Egg Hunt
Of course, the main event of any kids Easter is seeing if the Easter Bunny has passed through or not. Usually, there are plenty of local Easter egg hunts you can spend the whole day at, but unfortunately, we have to get a little bit creative this year.
Why not have a good old-fashioned Easter Egg Hunt?
While large-scale events are a no-go, who says you can’t bring the fun to you? You can use painted or chocolate eggs (once you’ve pinched a few for yourself of course) to create a fun activity younger kids are sure to love! You can even switch things up and leave clues to make for a unique scavenger hunt.
Decorate Your Home For The Holidays
Since we’re all spending this Easter at home, why not make it into a stunning space that’s perfect for spring? Decorating for the holidays is a tradition for the whole family, and it’s a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit while stuck at home.
